My career in web design grew out of an interest in fine art, especially oil painting. I pursued web design in college and was able to begin freelancing as a student. My first client was WebsiteGrowers.com, Inc. In 2014, after years of working as a subcontractor, I joined Website Growers as a full-time employee. I led day-to-day operations for the company, a six-figure business with over 100 clients, for almost a year. In that time, my responsibilities encompassed every aspect of the business — from website design and development to SEO consultation, to overhauling the entire customer-facing accounting and billing interface. In addition to designing and programming websites, I am experienced in DNS set-up, email configuration, hosting, and website-level security.
Having worked with many small business owners, I am excited about planning, creating, and deploying applications that help businesses grow on the web. I often assist clients with little or no understanding of websites and am practiced in responding directly to client questions and communicating technical concepts to non-technical users effectively. As an employee, contractor, and subcontractor, I’ve supported clients with services such as authoring step-by-step manuals for WordPress websites and leading website training sessions for groups via video conference.
While my background is primarily website design and development, I am eager to work on web and mobile applications as well. My goals include learning more web languages and I’m happiest when working with a well-organized, positive team.
